Unmarkdown™ offers two plans: Free and Pro. The Free plan covers the essentials for getting started with markdown publishing. The Pro plan removes all limits and unlocks the full platform. There is no time limit, trial period, or credit card required on the Free plan.

The Free plan includes:

• Up to 5 documents (creation-time limit, welcome template excluded)
• 8 starter templates
• 10 AI actions total (lifetime, not per day)
• 1,000 API calls per month (hard wall)
• 10 requests per second rate limit
• Clipboard copy to all 6 destinations (Google Docs, Word, Slack, OneNote, Email, Plain Text)
• Up to 3 published pages at a time
• Publishing with auto-generated slugs from the document title
• Visibility: Anyone with link, or Specific people (max 3 shares per document)
• Mermaid diagram and KaTeX math insertion and rendering
• Graphviz diagram and Chart.js chart rendering (insertion is Pro only)
• 50MB image storage (5MB per file)
• Total view count on published pages
• Unmarkdown™ badge always shown on published pages

Pro is available at two price points:

• $8 per month billed annually ($96/year)
• $10 per month billed monthly

Pro includes everything in Free, plus:

• Unlimited documents and published pages
• All 62 templates (and all future templates)
• Template customizer (~60 controls) and custom templates
• Template favorites
• Unlimited AI actions (rate limited to 30 per hour)
• 10,000 API calls per month
• 30 requests per second rate limit
• Graphviz diagram and Chart.js chart insertion
• Document downloads: PDF, Word (.doc), HTML
• Public visibility option for published pages
• Custom slugs for published URLs
• Unlimited shares per document
• Collections for grouping published documents
• Full analytics dashboard (trends, referrers, countries, devices)
• 30-day version history with preview and restore
• 1GB image storage (5MB per file)
• Hide the Unmarkdown™ badge on published pages

Most API requests count as one call toward your monthly quota. The following endpoints are exempt and do not count:

• GET /v1/documents (list your documents)
• GET /v1/documents/:id (get a single document)
• GET /v1/templates (list available templates)
• GET /v1/usage (check your quota status)

All other endpoints (convert, create, update, delete, publish, unpublish) count as one API call per request. Requests that are rejected due to quota limits are not counted.

Consider upgrading to Pro when:

• You need more than 5 documents
• You want access to all 62 templates or the template customizer
• You have used your 10 lifetime AI actions and want more
• You need downloads (PDF, Word, HTML) for offline distribution
• You want public visibility, custom URLs, or folders for published pages
• You need more than 1,000 API calls per month
• You want full analytics on your published content
• You want to hide the Unmarkdown™ badge

Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?

Yes. You can switch from monthly to annual billing at any time from the Billing tab in Settings. Stripe applies a prorated credit for the unused portion of your current monthly period, then charges the annual rate. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect at the end of your annual period.

What happens when I cancel Pro?

When you cancel, your Pro features remain active until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan. Your documents are not deleted. Your 5 most recently edited documents remain editable, and the rest become read-only until you upgrade again or delete documents.

Can I upgrade later if I start on Free?

Yes. You can upgrade to Pro at any time from Settings, the sidebar, or any upgrade prompt in the app. Pro features activate immediately after payment.

Is there a refund policy?

Contact support within 14 days of your initial purchase for a full refund. Refunds for renewals are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Do I need Pro to use the API?

No. Both Free and Pro plans include API access. Free accounts get 1,000 calls per month at 10 requests per second. Pro accounts get 10,000 calls per month at 30 requests per second.
